SENIOR SOFTBALL - North King County Little League's Senior Softball program is for girls who are primarily League Age 14 - 16.
Players play by Senior League Official Regulation Rules established for this level of play. Tryouts are required. Teams are drafted by managers following a draft system established by Little League to ensure that teams are equally balanced and player talent is evenly distributed. Senior Softball is played on 60-foot bases, and regulation games are 7 innings long. Double-header games and night games are part of the regular season schedule. Players will play 18 - 25 games per season with practices interspersed. This involves a commitment of 3 or more sessions per week. Senior League rules allow for relaxed uniform rules and "pool playing" to accommodate those teams whose members who have conflicts with high school softball. Due to the limited number of teams throughout our District, NKCLL softball teams play "interleague" games with neighboring leagues and some out of district leagues (Burien to Woodinville). NKCLL's Softball Program is governed by Washington District 8 Intercouncil. In the interest of fair and equitable competition, specific rules are implemented by the Intercouncil. These supplemental rules will be shared with each team prior to the start of the season. A Senior Interleague double-elimination end-of-season tournament is also held beginning the first week in June. Players receive a hat to keep and a uniform to use during the season. Players also have the opportunity to apply, tryout and be voted by their peers to play on the All Star Tournament team that will play in the District 8 Senior League double-elimination tournament in late June and early July. Once a player has attained SENIOR LEAGUE status, that player will remain on his/her Senior League team until the end of his/her last eligible season. The SENIOR LEAGUE fee is $140.00 per player. SPECIAL NOTE: There is a $250.00 maximum per family so if your registration costs exceed that amount, you only need to pay the $250.00.
