JUNIOR BASEBALL - North King County Little League's Junior Baseball program is for boys and girls who are League Age 13 and 14.
Players play by Senior League Official Regulation Rules established for this level of play. Tryouts are required. Teams are drafted by managers following a draft system established by Little League to ensure that teams are equally balanced and player talent is evenly distributed. Junior Baseball is played on 90-foot bases, and regulation games are 7 innings long. Double-header games and night games are part of the regular season schedule. Teams will interleague with other District 8 teams, and some travel is involved (Magnolia to Woodinville). Players will play 18 - 25 games per season with practices interspersed. This involves a commitment of 3 or more sessions per week. Senior League rules also allow for relaxed uniform rules and "pool playing" to accommodate those teams whose members have conflicts with high school baseball. Teams participate in the annual District 8 Wooden bat tournament. A Junior Interleague double-elimination end-of-season tournament is also held beginning the first week in June. Players receive a hat to keep and a uniform to use during the season. Players also have the opportunity to apply, tryout and be voted by their peers to play on the Allstar Tournament team that will play in the District 8 Junior League double-elimination tournament in late June and early July. Players will not return to their same teams next year, but will re-enter the draft to have the opportunity to be drafted to a SENIOR LEAGUE team. The JUNIOR LEAGUE fee is $140.00 per player. Refer to Parent Handbook for detailed information about our League and programs.
SPECIAL NOTE: There is a $250.00 maximum per family so if your registration costs exceed that amount, you only need to pay the $250.00.
